McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator Services
We help you protect your enterprise by implementing best practices tuning and optimization for your McAfee® ePolicy Orchestrator® (ePO™) deployment.

Objectives
We work with you to fine-tune your ePO and VirusScan settings, establishing the optimal balance between scanning protection and system performance. First we review the existing ePO and VirusScan implementation within your network environment. Then we validate that you are in compliance with your organization’s anti-virus policies. We also teach two of your team members how to install, configure, and manage ePolicy Orchestrator.
Tasks Performed:
Anti-Virus Policy and Infrastructure Review
We work with your team, reviewing your existing network environment and anti-virus policies and measuring how well you are complying with your existing anti-virus objectives.
- Review your network environment, network architecture, and network management capabilities
- Confirm that software configurations and software processes comply with your anti-virus policies
- Assess the current level of software compliance (version, engine, virus definition files) and develop a plan to maintain or maximize readiness
ePO and VirusScan Configuration Review and Tuning
We then analyze your specific server, agent, and anti-virus software ePO configuration, providing a roadmap for optimizing your level of protection. We also teach your team members how to manage, customize, and maintain the latest version of ePO.
- Discuss architectural design and rollout methods for installing/upgrading to the latest version of ePO and VirusScan
- Discuss tuning of agent and server communications and optimizing the balance between scanning protection and performance
- Plan for deploying and/or maintaining installations of the ePO agent and anti-virus software
- Plan for maintaining the ePO server and its database, if needed
- Adjust parameters to increase performance without adversely affecting network traffic
- Suggest changes to the ePO directory structure to ease administration and application of tasks, policies, and software deployment
- Demonstrate using ePO to identify virus outbreaks and to respond to an outbreak
- Establish distribution points for repositories containing product installation files, DAT virus signature files, and engine upgrade files
- Establish reporting and alerting mechanisms used to track anti-virus protection levels and the frequency and severity of virus-related events
Training
